What You Should Know About IPL Facials
Pre-Treatment:
- Sun exposure and tanning should be avoided for several days prior and post treatment.
- Please do not apply make-up or lotion on the treated area.
- Any antibiotics or Accutane should not be taken at least 3 weeks before treatment.
The Treatment:
- Each treatment is 35- 40 minutes.
- IPL Laser Facial is applied in a series of pulses, after which a cooling mask will be applied to your skin.
Post-Treatment:
- The treated area will appear slightly red.
- Keep skin clean and use sun block with a minimum of SPF 30 daily.
- The next treatment should be scheduled within 3-4 weeks after the initial treatment.
- If you should experience any irritation or rash after treatment taking Benadryl should help relieve these symptoms.
The Results:
- After treatment the redness usually subsides within a few hours and returns back to normal.
- Significant improvement is seen in as few as 2-3 treatments.
- Treatments should be done at a 4 week interval.
Mechanism of Action:
Our photorejuvenation process uses the optimal wavelength of light to clear vascular and pigmented lesions by targeting hemoglobin (for vascular lesions) and melanin (for pigmented lesions). Once the light is absorbed as heat by the lesion, the lesion disappears.
